I used to live in Aldwyck House, right in front of where the girl is sitting in the first slide. I kind of miss it a little bit, but not too much!

I lived in Somerset Avenue luton in the early 1960s in a flat above some shops and later a house just a the top of the avenue ..Then my family moved away to Yorkshire in 1964 .. Looking at the town today is so different, i will have to return for myself in the near future to check it out! Thanks for posting!

Luton is not a nice place, but compared to
anywhere up north it is paradise.

Allmost true danifc1983; there are some exceptions such as Wolverhampton and Sunderland; both officially cities- they have important ecclesiastical buildings but no cathedrals- they were made cities quite recently so I think the cathedral thing is more traditionally speaking. Nowadays its more on account of population.

Bolton borough has a large population, but I have been studying urban demographics for some time and there a number of towns bigger than the town of Bolton such as Dudley, Milton Keynes and Northampton. Kearsley and Farnworth are in Bolton borough but not the town itself so can't be counted with the population. |
